This is an exemplary depiction of how cooperation, and teamwork can overcome multiple and varied hazards even with the limited technology of the early 90s. This also exemplifies how critical maintaining proper procedure is in emergency situations. I have to say there are many current FDs that should be viewing this for training (Garfield, NJ for example), and some current FDs that are a perfect example of this exact cooperation and teamwork such as the FDNY. No matter what the situation this shows that cooperation and preparation are extremely important as is execution. This was an excellent job, and all involved hopefully were commended for their role in this.

Do Not Bring Barnacle Boats into Idaho!

I live in eastern Washington state and it is fascinating to see the history of this project that transformed this part of the country. This spirit of optimism and hard work is almost unimaginable today. Many take for granted the comfort and prosperity we enjoy today and have no appreciation for where we came from and the incredible efforts it took to get here.
